FAYEMI FELICITATES WITH MUSLIMS ON ED –EL KABIR

The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Action Congress in Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has sent a Sallah Goodwill message to Muslim faithfuls in Nigeria and Ekiti in particular.

In the message he said, ‘ I wish to thank Almighty Allah for seeing this glorious Sallah day – a day that symbolizes Moslem Unity and its total submission to the WILL of Allah across the world as amply demonstrated by Holy Prophet Ibrahim (The Father of Faith). Prophet Ibrahim demonstrated courage and fear of Allah in all his undertakings.  

Fayemi said, ‘millions of world pilgrims, out of which a sizeable number are of Ekiti State origin will today be on Mount Arafat to offer special prayers to  Almighty Allah in fulfillment of one of the five pillars of Islam – (HAJJ).

It is on this that I call on our teeming Islamic adherents and other religious sects to emulate those lessons inherent in the celebration of this festival as the celebration is not about slaughtering of rams and its attendant festivities alone, besides, it affords us all a unique opportunity to renew our commitment to the service of Allah and our covenant to God.’

This could be demonstrated sincerely, politically, socially and spiritually in all our dealings with our neighbours and in Nation building.

The lessons of patience and total submission to the will of God that were taught by the encounter of Prophet Ibrahim with God is instructive. It means that with God, all things are possible.

He therefore enjoined Muslims especially in Ekiti to hope on God to fulfill their heart’s desire at the time they least expect. He said next year’s Sallah would be more interesting because the promise of God would have been fulfilled as the governor they voted for would have mounted the saddle just as God intervened in the case of Abraham.
